Instead of "do not disturb" I want something like this:
"Don't knock. Not on this door. Not for any reason. Do you get me, sweetheart?”
Of course there was far more than that line in the movie, but that keeps it simple. Have had a great run of bad luck with housekeeping waking me up either late at night with an early show, or early when I'm trying to nap for a redeye. Just don't knock. Please.

Dedicated sections for crew, cleaning crew provided with check out times by room number. It's 2021, should not be that hard.

Right before you leave at zero dark thirty, set the room alarm clock for 30 minutes later at max volume. Then turn on the TV at max volume as you walk out the door.

They are trained to knock on doors come checkout time when they are making their cleaning rounds. Sign up, down, sideways or upside down…they are knocking.

The trouble is mostly with contract cleaners who get paid by the room... they don't want to skip a room if they can help it. They also don't want to wait around for you to leave because they don't get paid to wait either. It's kind of their passive/aggressive way of hinting that they want you to GTFO so they can finish and go home, and they don't give a rip about airline schedules.
Also doesn't help that crew leave their hangers out when they leave.

waited 30 minutes, called the room.
Wait another 30 minutes tried to bust in again.
30 minutes after that it was actually time to leave so when I come out of the room they’re standing right there saying “you leave now?”
