Anyhow, does this nurse friend think her life is in danger from the covid vax? There are few other thing that would make me give up a career and all my income than something that put my life or my loved ones’ lives in danger. This is an honest question. Just wondering what it is about a vaccine that would make someone quit their job. I’m not promoting the vaccine here I’m just asking about taking what seems like major life altering action to avoid something that most likely won’t affect you in anyway other than side effects for a day
You admitted that you let someone stick you with a needle with a biological agent you didn’t understand to get a $4.25 an hour job and then denigrated someone with far more training and experience -and with both academic and professional licensing of that training and experience - than you for making a far more informed decision than you made. That’s the honest answer. You had inadequate knowledge to have an opinion then and you have inadequate knowledge to have an opinion now - but nonetheless opine anyway.
I don’t know how the woman came to that decision either, but it is not an inherently irrational decision. Being on the frontline for this, she may have ALREADY HAD COVID, and now recovered and reviewing the literature, realizes that she now has a more complete and long lasting immunity than you or I have from the two shots we both took. Its not a one-size-fits-all world. The UK vaccine policy body just turned down making a recommendation for routine COVID immunizations for those under 15 because their risk of death due to COVID simply didn’t justify it, particularly with the risk of myocarditis in young males from the Pfizer vaccine.
it isn’t a one size fits all world. We need to be a little more nuanced than knuckle dragging proVax and knuckle dragging antiVax.
