Once you're off probation at a union airline (or any other union job), it's going to be VERY hard to fire you for conduct which occurred outside of work. That's why they try so hard with background checks, psych tests, etc.
Usually with airlines, they only get to fire you when the conduct results in a lot of unauthorized absence due to prison or not making bail.
I recall a USPS mail carrier who had to go to prison for child molesting. He had some union leave provision so he got his job back when he got out. IIRC the USPS then tried to fire him based on the fact that he wasn't allowed near kids, schools, playgrounds, etc so could not do the route he was assigned. He someone got that overturned, apparently they had to adjust his route to "accommodate" his "needs". Something like that.
