Quote: Thanks for the feedback! Not sure what you mean by "all over the place." I'm just trying to learn what Delta has to offer while you not knowing the entire story.

Appreciate the info. I'm sure I'll have plenty of more questions and this forum had been most helpful.

What I meant is in one thread you are asking about LAX and SEA 737, but in this thread you are bouncing around NYC and ATL ER…literally coast to coast options.

I know text doesn’t have context or tone, so I’m not trying to come across as a a$$…truly trying to help.

I guess I did a poor job of inferring that, in my opinion, it appears you are putting the cart before the horse.

Figure out where you are going to live, then narrow down your bases and planes.

Maybe you are a single nomad and will settle down based on where you get assigned….more power to ya, and if that is your scenario, then my appositives for assuming.

I’ve just seen it too many times…someone goes for the shiny jet syndrome and gets stuck commuting to RES, which is the worst thing I have ever done in my time at Delta…it was soul crushing on my family with the inability to plan more than a day out. I couldn’t get to a line fast enough! But as you inferred earlier, I don’t know your situation, so maybe it will work for you.

Again, best of luck with your decision.

No worries, internet doesn't easily convey the thought process very well.

I totally understand and my family is open to all options, so that's why I'm asking all these questions. My airline knowledge is limited (all mil), so the noobness is there, lol.

Spent last 15 years at EK. Start at DL next month.
I kind of figured you were coming from a ME carrier with A340 in there.

Welcome home!

He asked about ATL because the last new hire drop had ATL 7ER in it, I think. He’s strategizing his pick for his/her class drop, while I think ultimately wanting to be on the west coast some day.

Be advised that we only use the Flight Director while airborne here in the States.

(Just teasing 😉 )

I just had a guy doing an observation ride who finished his 44X last week and in two weeks was going to ACC....so maybe they are speeding things up?

Are the IOE times for the overseas signoff dropping or are they still a couple month wait. Called TOE right?

i do IOE on Saturday followed by a TOE like 2 days later. I had to go through a special requal due to original IOE delays back in the fall. I am not a new hire but in general I think the 7ER is mostly caught up.

My sim partner and I finished sims Jan 28th. We both did 5 days of domestic OE immediately (2 days off) after the last Sim. He's currently on TOE (ATL7ERB). I haven't been assigned any TOE yet (NYC7ERA)
