What will life be like as NYC 7ER newby?
Will be headed to class tomorrow with an assignment to NYC 7ER. Have read various threads and have pieced together lots of good info. Thanks for that!!
Looking for insight on what life at the bottom of these airframes will look like in Spring 2022??
Does anyone bring a car to NY? Is it best to get a crash pad closer to JFK or LGA? Is parking at the airports possible? Do these airframes work out of EWR?
Is the flying split between JFK/LGA?? or more from one of those?
Anything you might care to share with me and the other new NY FO's greatly appreciated
Some insight to my situation:
Will be commuting to NYC
Have a possible housing option in Nassau County, closer to JFK than LGA.......is this a good location to cover on RES?
Have an airport car I can bring and leave.......if a good idea?
Will continue to mine the threads.......thought this might be a good question in light of lots of us headed to NYC......THANKS!!

I would def be closer to JFK as the ER doesn’t fly out of LGA at all.
Expect 2-4 day trips mostly domestic maybe occasionally international post TOE. On reserve it’s more likely you’ll see an international. Domestic trips range from Trans-con two days with one leg per day to four day with four leg days bouncing around Florida. It’s a great fleet with some seniority. Good amount of red eyes.
Nassau County with car would be fine.

If you don't bring a car you can sign up for a program that will reimburse you up to $250/month for Ubers and taxis.

Saw and read that thread, lots of good info......... seemed to target pilots who are looking at their options.
Am I able to park at both LGA and JFK? Does the company pay for that? Can I park and leave a car at LGA while commuting?

The car program is for LGA and EWR only and it’s only up to $200 a month.
