They still are true believers in the jab. My guess is that this becomes the new “4 year degree”. It might not be required, but they might find someone they like better to hire.
You honestly believe our HR department is asking that question during interviews? "Have you been vaccinated or not?" This is insane. Anyone with half a nut knows this is highly illegal and grounds for mega lawsuit action. Don't let your arrogance get the best of you - just a coworker looking out for your blow hard statements on APC.

Quote: All employees who were effectively terminated will be allowed to return. I know of one pilot who got the jab under duress in late September.

Do we still need to show vax card for new hires? Thank you

Just going by what is posted on the application site. I honestly don’t know how they verify, but they evidently still require proof of vaccination to work here unless you go through United’s accommodation process. My guess is that they simply added a vaccination card to the list of things like logbooks, certificate, and medical to bring to the interview for verification. Their court, their rules. For the record, I’m personally against a mandate.

Way to redeem yourself, Junior. Nice.

What ever man. I post the vaccine requirement from the actual application site and say that they are still true believers in requiring vaccination unless granted an accommodation from United and somehow you take issue with that. You might not like the jab, or the mandate, but those who establish corporate policy and hiring standards sure seem to. Applicants will have to provide proof of vaccination or receive accommodation from United before being hired. Again, their court, their rules.

This is your direct quote and words: "They still are true believers in the jab. My guess is that this becomes the new “4 year degree”. It might not be required, but they might find someone they like better to hire."
that I responded to.

Coping and attitude now, Junior, wow you must be a joy to fly a 4-day trip with. Perhaps the regionals should have hung onto you for a few more years.

They have been sticklers for the degree in the past and have passed on many highly qualified applicants due to not having one. I’m just saying that they could look at the jab in the same light. The degree was simply strongly preferred, while vaccination is required unless someone meets their threshold for an accommodation. Anyway, I simply commented on how the company could potentially treat this and you take offense. No attitude here, I really don’t care if someone gets the jab or not, nor would I hesitate flying a trip with someone who isn’t vaccinated. The company however gets to set up the hoops, and applicants can decide if they want to jump through them to gain employment.

Nearly every regional contractor that operates for UAL does not have a vaccine mandate. A very large percentage of those regional crews are still unvaccinated. I have heard as high as 40% of regional crews are still operating day in and day out without the vaccine in cockpits where masks are not required operationally. Mainline continues to push the narrative that having the vaccine mandate in place has prevented "widespread severe illness and death." If that is truly the case, will someone please provide the scientific numbers showing the high rates of severe illness and deaths at our regional provider level? Keeping in mind - those crews are operating in and out of more cities in a day, being exposed to a wider variety of passengers from different areas of the country. Yet, scientifically, the regional population crew's "Severe Illness & Death Rates" is no different then a fully-vaccinated parent company mainline operator employees. I'd like to hear some factual responses with statistics. Not emotionally explosive responses that dominate these forums.

Covid-19 drama ceased being about facts and natural science a few months after it started.

Everyone knows that. If someone disagrees - oh well.

98% pilot group vaccinated.
0% unvaccinated eligible for initial employment.

Only facts and statistics that are relevant.
