Default UAL drops mandatory COVID vax

All employees who were effectively terminated will be allowed to return. I know of one pilot who got the jab under duress in late September.

Read the entire announcement, it does not apply to everyone, Just people seeking exemptions… People who do not want to get jabbed just because are still banned. For how much longer, no one knows, but not this round.

A drop in new Covid cases, hospitalizations and loosening of masking requirements in many cities "suggest that the pandemic is beginning to meaningfully recede," Kirk Limacher, vice president of human resources, said in a staff note. "As a result, we're confident we can safely begin the process" of returning staff with exemptions back to their jobs.

Weren’t those people fired? BTW, I have no clue why the second part is bolded.

Yes, and apparently the eligible dismissed employees are gonna be able to come back.

The unjabbed by choice need not get excited yet.

Where did you hear that? The CNBC article said they (the 200 dismissed people) would not be asked back.

No, they were on unpaid leave. They are the ones who were granted religious or medical exemptions. Unpaid leave was the offered reasonable accommodation.

The people who were fired were those who were not granted an exemption and did not provide documentation of being vaccinated by the deadline. Nothing has changed with their status.

Also, nothing has changed with the vaccination requirement for those without an exemption.

You didn’t read what I was replying to. “still banned” implies that there is a chance at non-employees (because they were fired) returning to United. I haven’t seen that as being the case.

This thread is deceptively titled, and virtually useless.
