Quote: Really strange post since I have not supported any integration of the 9E pilots and have stated repeatedly Delta won’t due it. One more time for those with limited reading comprehension. If Delta wants the aircraft at the mainline they will transfer the aircraft and hire pilots to fly them just like they do anytime they add airframes. They will not merge the airlines or offer a seniority integration or staple.

Ah yeah idk. He could have flowed in mid 2021 if he wanted to, I assume. Chose not to. That’s fine, but he caterwauls about a staple now so idk if there’s ragret. Assuming he’s the same guy who whines about propel every day on FB.

I don’t buy his/her story for one second. Turns down flow but wants a staple a few years later. 🤔🤔🤔

Not saying I personally want a staple . They will do what they need to do or are going to do regardless of how I feel. Just saying that 70/76 seat jet flying has only been done by the regionals for the last 20 to 25 years .Before that it was all done by the Majors and the old Trunk carriers for anyone on here old enough to know that term, LOL. ( Sailing has been around so I’m sure he gets what I’m saying ) . The Union at Delta are the ones advocating for this . I don’t run the Union . It is what it is . No one knows what’s going to happen . Just have to wait and see.

You are correct . Obviously there is no benefits from MGT’s perspective at anytime to give employees something better . It’s all supply and demand . If they could get away with it we would all be flying for 50 cents an hour . The Regionals have always been a scam . The only reason the regionals have gotten the gains we have gotten is cause of Covid and forcing a supply and demand issue . The regionals are shrinking at an alarming pace and that flying has got to go somewhere. Getting better gains is a win win for the entire industry. You are correct . MGT would only staple / absorb Endeavor if absolutely necessary. Will it happen ? Even if it does it’s not going to cause any current mainline pilots to suffer . Just enjoy life and be glad you were able to get to a mainline at a young age . Regardless of what happens to Endeavor it’s no skin off your back.

Back in the days he is referring to the regionals did the 9 to 50 seat flying. There was a bunch of DC9 flying at the larger airlines with the smaller versions holding about 76 seats. The entire industry upsized over the last 35 years. The 727 was a big aircraft when I got hired. Now 148 seats is the bottom end. As the majors upsized so did the regionals.
To get one of those coveted regional jobs flying turboprops paying 12 bucks an hour took about 3000 total hours and 1000 ME. To get that you flew checks and night freight solo without an autopilot in beat up old piston twins for years at 8 bucks an hour. Those pilots could however fly and had an instrument scan that went beyond locked into a flight director.

Yes, but not as bad. Higher unscheduled engine replacement rate and low cycle limits on the engines. Due to the low cycle limit even the -100 usually does three hour legs

Quote: Delta and Endeavor Management opposed the Flow , Retention money and higher payrates on every level . It didn’t matter. They had to do it . They will staple /absorb if they have to . Who knows what crazy happening or event is coming down the pike next to shake things up more .
The pipe. Coming down the pipe, butthead. Now make like a tree and get outta here.

Quote: I see your points . Over time there will be more A220’s ,but I think Delta will fly the 717’s as long as they can . There will always be a need for 70/76 seaters and Delta can profit just fine on those 76 seaters as “mainline” . They are already paying us pilots much higher than even the rate they had on their 76 seat scale and still making quite the profit . The only reason more of the “Regional” flying has come over to the 717/220 is because of attrition issues at 9E. Otherwise they would be doing much more of the flying on RJ9’s . Once again in the 70’s , 80’s and 90’s all the 70 to 90 seat Jet flying was done by the mainline . F28’s, DC9-10’s , BAC 111’s and the original AVRO ( 146) were all flown by USAir, Piedmont , American , Braniff ,Allegheny and countless other carriers . Delta would make plenty of profits by bringing 76 seat flying to mainline . They wouldn’t just bring all the aircraft over and dump the employees. They can’t even staff what they got currently at Delta. If they can somehow grow 9E back you will see more flying go back to RJ9’s . That’s why they have spent 300 plus million the last 2 years to try to grow 9E back. It ain’t working. They have had to spend even more by shifting a lot of that flying to the 717/220 or canceling service altogether at some places . That will be the litmus test this next year if they can grow 9E back . If not , something will have to give .
Nice argument. We see that you keep making it over and over.

Trouble is, nobody is listening. DAL/9E management didn't ask your opinion, and ALPA has no power to force a merger.

This is all nothing but mental masturbation.
