Isn't the union trying to get the company to move towards using ARCOS for IA calls?

I have heard a lot of pilots were making deals with scheduling to cover trips around Christmas. I can only imagine how many illegal reroutes and deals were made the last week or so.

I received calls from a 404 number with caller ID "Delta Air Lines" for multiple GSWC trips on the 24th/25th. A scheduler left me a message with trip details. Funny thing was, I didn't have a GSWC slip in so they were all just cold calls.

Got numerous IA calls every month while I was out NQAT.

Looked at trips assigned a few times during my 8 days off. One had a code I wasn't familiar with. "T". Out of base conflict. First time in 32 years I've seen thot one.

I had the same kinda thing happen to me during a vacation in a reserve month of '18. (The John Bell reserve calculator made a compelling case for reserve). Phone rings with a 404 number and I thought it might be a training planner calling about bounces. Nope. It's scheduling. They had an inverse assignment for me. Rather entertaining conversation ensued. "You do??" "Yes...trip xxxx reporting tomorrow morning at xx:xx." "You do know I am on vacation right now, correct?* "Yes we do ...that's why we are calling. We are in inverse assignment and you are the only one available." "But I am on vacation...how are you going to pay me?" "Just like the contract says, straight pay over your guarantee and PB days for you interrupted vacation days." "Are you sure that's in the contract?" "We really need you to fly this rotation." "Did I mention I am on vacation? Not sure how you even got my number but....thanks anyway "

They ended up awarding the trip as an IAWC. Guess I missed an amendment to "their coverage ladder" where pilots on days of vacation come before IAWC. That's some MLF right there. No lunkers that time though. 🤣

No way. The 310 is the GA 757. Alllll day. Beechcraft is for lil skinny guys that like long runways.

23.M.7. We do what we want clause.

23.M.7 applies to 23.N and 23.O

And no where in 23.N/O does it state "...that interrupts a vacation day"

Also the literal defitnion of "hard no fly day" is "non-fly day on which a pilot may not be inversely assigned to a rotation"....and vacation is the first example listed.
