I was a pc user for years and had all the same excuses why I would not want a Mac. After upgrading to Vista and all the issues it caused on my computer I decided to try a Mac. I have had my Mac now for several months and will never go back to a pc.

Quote: I also recently read that PC World (or some comparable publication) tested Windows Vista on multiple makes and models of computers. A Mac (I don't recall which one) ran Vista the fastest out of all of them (it included a ton of PCs).

I know a lot of people don't like Macs, but they really are quite good computers. Just because they're not PCs and they're different doesn't make them bad. In fact, I'd argue that those differences made them A LOT better. Just my $.02....for what it's worth.
MAC may be better. I know, I used to be all MAC, but the prices, software availability & prices, etc made me switch. I tired of paying more for less. I don't think Apple products are worth it. I don't miss them.

I have not had one problem with Vista, but I did buy the machine with Vista on it. I did not upgrade.

I also have not had any difficulties with vista, nor would I go back to a Mac (Too little for too much)

While I'll agree that software availability USED to be a problem, the new split system eliminates that. But to each his own.

My next laptop will be Mac IF and only IF thay can come up with a model that will survive the life in a rollaboard. Right now, their shell is just too wimpy. With respect to performance, a mac will beat a PC any day of the week. I also hope that NC Software will make a mac version of the APDL for the IPhone - that will bring me to the store at least...

My Mac is in my rollaboard about five days a week. It survives quite nicely. In fact I just upgraded to a Macbook Pro. It is insanely fast and quite impressive. I had my Alum Powerbook for years and took it with me on every overnight I had. I never had a problem.

once you go Mac you never go back! I have a Mac and a PC and the PC runs slow gets pop ups all the time bogs down and crashes and basically is a POS. Every three months it must be formatted and have windows installed again.

The mac just runs and runs and runs. There is nothing I can do on windows that you can't do on Mac. Windows makes you buy all their software. Mac has Open office that will run all windows office products.

iphone apps are installed with third party software, ifuntastic is what I use. It unlocks the phone and you just drag and drop the apps you want on the phone. So easy a caveman can do it!

That post is going to cost me big $$$, now I have to take a second look and I don't even need it yet.... I was thinking more in line of a thoughbook or even making my own, but maybe that Mac is the answer?? It just seem so wimpy buildt, kinda like my Dell (That has survived a year on the road with me..). Hmmm, I will check it out....
