Could be a problem at high elevation airports. By the time we're touching down, flaps up, here at AFW our speed has bled off just below the 139. Just saying it's something to be cautious of.

Quote: Hey there T,

Yes, we are flying out of Alliance. Been here since last Thursday, passed the oral today, go home for a break tomorrow. Back Monday evening to finish up and have the flight portion next Thursday.

Hey KAD, Where on Alliance airport is their offices? Do they have Simulators and classrooms there or do they only do flight training?

Thanks in advance

They have no sims or classrooms there. All of that stuff is at the CAE Simuflite facility at DFW. Eventually there won't be any in-aircraft training once the sim is complete/certified. Some people have been doing in-aircraft training in Brazil as well.

I think I found a picture of the Phenom 100 cockpit you have been riding around in at Ft. Worth Alliance. Looks like a nice office... Check it out:

Executive Airshare Furloughs.
Airshare lays-off 10% of it's pilot work force (4 pilots).

Here is a email sent to the whole pilot group, but unfortunately the effected pilot were unable to receive it, so I would like to post it here.

To all of my Friends, Cohorts and otherwise extraodinary people at Executive Airshare,

It's been my pleasure for over the last 4+ years to share the grandest vistas in the world with the greatest group of professionals one could ever hope to work with. I wanted to take a moment to ask a favor of all of you. I find myself in need of letters of reference and would like to ask everyone that I've had the honor of working with and flying with to please forward me a personal letter of reference, if you are so inclined. If others of you find yourself in need of the same, please, do not hesitate to ask the likewise of me. Thanks in advance and feel free to contact me anytime.

Best Regards and Wishes,

Greg Brandes

Thursday was indeed a dark and emotional day as the effects of the economy finally struck home. My wishes and prayers go out to Scott, Brent and Shane. I feel your loss. I don't believe there is a single pilot at Executive Airshare that I will not miss in some way. Every pilot pulled his weight and put forth the exeptional effort to make Airshare an extraordinary place to work. Working on the road was always a pleasure and the whole pilot group was like a second family. You will all be missed. May you find Blue Skies and Fair Winds in the difficult days that may follow.

If anyone would like to contact me, I can be reached through email by way of <(my screen name) at keesler dot org>.

Just wanted to confirm these were furloughs vs. terminations - right? I presume these pilots would be needed as more Phenoms show up in the future. Let's hope that is the case.

Good luck to all involved!

Executive Airshare is Very volatile
I worked for Executive Airshare in 2005-2006 and can vouch for the demand it puts on their pilots. While I was there their policy went from 3 hard days off a month to 1, mainly because they were tired of paying bonus pay on the pilot's hard days off!
While the pilots were great to fly with, they were looking actively for "greener pastures". Proline 21 is a pipe dream, as stated earlier. This is definitely NOT the family-friendly corporate job!

Interesting. Are they parking airplanes right now or are they seeing a bump in the "value" category like Avantair with owners from other fractionals migrating to the cheaper aircraft? I would expect that the Phenom 100 would impress enough people with its efficiency to keep some sales coming in... Have they slowed the delivery rate of the Phenom or has that delivery timeline remained the same?

Last question: if you have only 1 hard day off per month, what is the more "realistic" schedule that pilots there are seeing now in terms of days flying per week? Are people flying 5-6 days per week (maybe out-and-backs) every week?
