Do not forget to keep an eye out for the JAL stuff too! That appears to be coming to a head.
Quote: Yep, this is the third election sequence where you vote for the Chair, Vice etc.

All those different combinations made me go crosseyed.

Bog no think hard. Bog just caveman.
Quote: I understand a new category might be open to all (except 744/777) but once trained on that category, you are "seat locked".

G. Category Freeze
1. A pilot who is awarded an AE or VD will incur a 24-month category freeze.
Exception one: A domestic category pilot will incur a 9-month category freeze if:
a. the award is an AE or VD for the same status in an international category, and
b. he requires no qualification training, other than transoceanic ground school
Exception two: Subject to Section 22 G. 1. Exception one b., a pilot currently under a
category freeze may be awarded an AE or VD to the same position at a different base.
Exception three: A B-767/B-757 or a B-767/B-757 (International) pilot who is awarded
an AE or VD in the same status for the B-767-400ER and undergoes B-757/767 to B-
767-400ER qualification training will incur a 9-month category freeze.
Exception four: A B-767-400ER pilot who is awarded an AE or VD in the same status
for the B-767/B-757 or the B-767/B-757 (International) and undergoes B-767-400ER to
B-757/767 qualification training will incur a 9-month category freeze.
2. A category freeze applies to a pilot who is awarded an AE or VD whether or not he is
bypassed under Section 22 E. 14. A pilot who has been bypassed will be deemed to hold the category to which he is being pay protected to determine his eligibility for another
AE or VD.
3. A pilot who, during his category freeze, is awarded a subsequent AE to the same position
at another base may be held in the category of his freeze until a replacement is trained
and converted. When such replacement is trained and converted, the pilot will be
converted in accordance with the subsequent AE.
4. A pilot who is under a category freeze and who has not previously completed training for
a mainline Captain position shall nevertheless be eligible to be awarded a Captain
position. In such event, the balance of such pilot’s existing category freeze shall be
added to the category freeze resulting from the Captain position award.
Lga
Quote: Interestingly, the LGA terminal shuffle will be delayed to April (originally Feb) and most of the increase will be with regional equip. USA will get 3 gates at the end of our current terminal D.

USAir already closed their LGA base effective next month and BOS is closing in April, I guess this deal is happening!

I guess Pedro will win then. I truly think that only Mike is running for Chair.

I would assume so. They were hoping to have it approved by March to add a bunch of cities to the schedule, but were thinking it may be a little later. I like a few of the cities we are going to go to. It would have been nice for them to announce them prior to this bid so guys that commute would have had better information, but I understand why they have not.
Ya know the really sad thing? Other than the postmortem for the deceased bunny and the obvious head trauma the poor little tyke had to endure from his "owner"....the bunny had a website. He was, however, Tokyo-based. All bunnies moved up one number in seniority.

What if Ferd ate him and doesn't even know it?

My guess is there will be some senior 330 & 744 F/O's that were 9 & 320 CA's before the NWA Bankruptcy that will bid out of the 330/744 and go back to a left seat on the MD88/90, 320 & 73N, in that case, they will get a 24 mos. freeze, however, if DAL decides to open ATL 330 now, some of those guys might re-consider and bid ATL 330.
The freeze makes you think twice about everything. If there is no ATL A330 on this bid then is it better to wait or jump back into an A seat now?
