I understand all that. I guess I am just curious why this can be done. I just recently completed the AOPA course. When I finished the mandatory stuff, they informed me that I had to take these other "elective" courses. I e-mailed them to ask why, and they responded that I did not put in enough time according to FAA rules about the time requirement. If you go to one of the ground renewal courses, you are required to spend 16 hours there, so, what's up with that? I understand that almost everyone wants to do the airline thing, been there, done that myself. I guess I just get miffed when I see 200-300 hour "wonders", after flight instructing for a year or two, seem to have, or think they have all the answers. Rant over, I'm done.
