So they lose their licenses, and they can reapply in one year. The article leads you to believe that Delta will help them get their certificates back by retraining them after a year? I find that hard to believe. But then again I find it hard to believe that this is not a terminable offense. Why do they still have their jobs?

Intentional disregard for safety does not fall under ASAP. They would have been excluded.

Personally, no matter what they were doing they would have been better off saying they fell asleep. At least that might be understandable. Saying they were completely distracted by their laptops makes them no different then a passenger.

Besides , I am sure that there is something in our ASAP MOU that still allows the FAA to proceed with an emergency revocation if they feel it is necessary.

Have they even been disciplined by Delta? I can't believe they haven't been fired. Mind you, I am not wishing for their termination, it just seems like their infraction would be terminable and indefensible.

The NTSB should be slapped for releasing info to the media without even STARTING the investigation.

I think Delta didn't want to get into disciplining them before the FAA ruled on the revocations. No reason to discipline if they lose their licenses...

I hope we see them back next year, I don't think the punishment fits the crime in this instance.

Crime is an interesting word, in as much as it implies willful misconduct.

It is a hard case to Judge. Delta made a smart move by taking a road that ensures it does not have a decision to make.
