It's like MaxJet/EOS/SilverJet all over again. US city direct to not-so-convenient, kinda-but-not-quite London (Stansted is not London; it's like calling Islip,NY New York, NY.

What could possibly go wrong?

The flight stops in Gander. I'm sure CAL is watching to see if this works so we can start it on our 737 too.

Add to the fact that it is not non-stop. At first I thought they might be leasing a new equipment type for this but according to the website they stop in Gander, Canada for gas on the way over and on the way back! I'll be interested to see how this works out. The ticket I priced out was $936 with taxes (DAL from MSP-LHR was $1237).

Right as everyone's getting tired enough to nod off after dinner for the crossing, seats up, electronic devices off, we're landing. Then after the second leg, arrive at Stanstead [sic] instead of LHR or LGW. I don't know, I think I might just pay the $1237 instead.

One would think that with a name like Sun Country, they would go somewhere there is actually, well, Sun.

That's almost 500 dollars in savings if you're going with someone else. Plus did anyone watch that Olympics special? Gander is supposed to be one of the friendlies cities in Canada. A short tech stop with possibly friendly Canadians coming up to your plane with free cookies and chocolate and off you go. Sounds nice..

You're going to be landing there in the middle of the night. I don't think those friendly Canadians are going to do that.

Having lived half my life in London you have to offer a pretty heavy discount to get people to Stansted.... which is exactly why its a Ryanair base.

Who in there right mind would pay $1000 to fly to stansted in a 737.....

At least Maxjet offered a premium cabin in a 767 for relatively the same price.... we saw how that worked out.....

This just seems extremely dumb to me but what do I know
