Have any of you worked on the NASCAR Flying Circuit? These guys fly more than the airlines, each team typically has a FLEETof aircraft ranging from lears to 727's that are always flying. 7 accidents in 40 years is nothing but should Rousch have is licensed removed? Maybe and at least reviewed but I have been on the ramp with the guy many times and I would say he is questionable as a competant pilot. Hes what we call a money pilot, not a born pilot. He flies because he has the money and wants a mathing P-51 and a (deceased) Premier. Rousch can blame the tower for his accident but last time I saw him at the bar he wasnt exactly 8 hours bottle to throttle the next morning during race week.

As much as these guys fly they are certainly paying for a lot of the FAA's expenses. Ever been to an airport the week of a NASCAR race, especially Daytona? It makes JFK look slow and with as much fuel as they buy they are the ones boosting the economy. If there are some Xjet charter pilots on here then you know what I am talking about.

You're not kidding. 15 years ago they were closing every stitch of pavement at DAB except for 7L and the parallel taxi way, and parking jets where ever they fit. The reservation system for depatures and arrivals probably killed a few controllers from the stress. What a zoo. I can only imagine what it's like these days.

The race car circuit and small aircraft operations are definitely linked from way back. Small airplanes have been the favorite way for race drivers and their teams to get around since the early 1950s. If you look throughout the Unites States, countless small airfields are co-located with automobile race tracks. I am from the South, Talladega and Hampton Motor Speedway are a couple that come to mind. Flying the patch with race cars outdoing your own ground speed below is a little odd, but it's a heck of a view.

Quote: Who was the politicians wife that sued Cessna for like $89 Mil (and won), because her son couldn't fly parial panel IMC and augered in with himself and his dad (said politician on board)? I think it was a C-340 and if I remember correctly it was out of annual, or hadn't had it's 2 year IMC certification???
