If the roles were reverse, and either CS or FX had made that aircraft order, those pilots would be here, doing exactly what we're doing. Not gloowing, just enjoying the positive news

When Delta ordered those 100 Next-Generation 737s, I didn't see the United or AA pilots giving them a hard time...

Do you apply this same attitude to any growth, expansion, acquisition, etc.... of any industry that might affect your own neighborhood, town/city, county, or state in any industry or do you reserve this feeling for the fractional/airline business solely?

No one here has rejoiced in the fact that some Flex pilots have lost their jobs in the recent past no more than anyone should have clapped their hands at the fact that NJA furloughed nearly 500 of their own pilots. So if new airplane orders might even hint at a comeback and sustainability of the company in general which might result in a recall for even some of those pilots, who are you to be pouring cold water on their chances of getting back to the life they are missing. Don't you have any regard for those pilots? You say above if this results in growth and recalls then that is "great news for everyone", but your attitude seems to be to chastise anyone who is excited about this news.

The OKC Thunder are in the NBA finals (even though I'm not a NBA fan) and the event is probably bringing millions of tourism dollars to the metro-area. Am I suppose to be upset that those dollars aren't going to San Antonio?

Alright guys, I hope it works out for the best for everyone, NJA and non-NJA. And I certainly hope that your used aircraft don't leave the fleet faster than new aircraft arrive.

This is everyones concern and no one has any delusions that this announcement means those at the bottom of the list are out of the woods. At the end of the day, it is simply not a bad thing.

From the Netjets web page:
Cockpit/Pilot station size – Pilots must fit and be able to fully function in NetJets aircraft
Aircraft assignments or changes to assignments are not based upon pilot size
Owners will bring baggage and cargo of various sizes and weights that will be loaded by crewmembers
Owners and passengers can and will smoke during flight
Animals (including, but not limited to dogs, cats and birds) can and will be carried aboard the aircraft in the main cabin.* Animals are not usually in cages. This means NetJets pilots have direct contact with animal hair, feathers, etc.
With few exceptions, the maximum required duty day is 14 hours
The minimum rest period is 10 hours

I could deal with loading bags--no big deal. But smokers in an airplane!? No freakin way! How can that be legal?

Smoking is not illegal on private planes, not the usual case, but legal.

I don't think I ever had someone smoke in the airplane. Pets? Yeah, lots of those. Had a basset hound crawl up and sit on a captain in flight while the owner was asleep. Highly amusing.

Will some of these planes replace aging aircraft in the NetJets fleet? If it does, what will be the net aircraft replacement.

Very good news though.

I'd think that ALL of these are slated to replace aging aircraft. The only thing Netjets seems able to accomplish anymore is the destruction of pilot's careers.

I bet they keep shrinking long term.
