Quote: There was a letter from the union stating that this flying will be mostly new flying and it will not affect Eagle operations. I will try to find it.
Yet, they also describe significant displacent likelihood at ORD. If it comes from or through Euless, it should be considered a plate of B.S. with a side order of self concern.

That's ok by me... I am a senior FO, I'll take it

If you noticed, in the MOU between APA and USAPA they agreed that US pilots will fly the first 30 airplanes and after that for every one 190 that goes to the US pilots, two will go for APA pilots. So, the 190s are coming for sure, I am thinking that some of the eagle pilots (from the 824) will end up on the 190 and be really screwed, having to put up with group I pay for a while.

Quote: I'm not sure what you are talking about with the 95% furlough clause vs the Flow? They are unrelated.

The 824 will go at the metered 20/mo regardless or 50%, whichever is less. They will never allow more than that # unless we are furloughing and it's mandatory. Winkley has said this himself. Plan on 20/mo flow.

I don't follow your logic of us losing airplanes and not replacing them being a good thing either. That makes absolutely no sense. Having other airlines replace our fleet while we shrink is not a good thing. Not ever. I guess you're not a junior CA or a senior FO that is teetering on the edge of a seat change (again). What is happening equals less CA seats for us, less money, more stagnation, displacements, worse schedules, and lower QOL all around. We haven't even factored in the stupid PBS yet of our own idiots doing.. which will even further reduce our CA seats required. If the new airplanes were coming here, we would be getting plenty of those new hires with SJS to cover them.

Sorry, I'm not going to be happy about some undercutting bottom feeder airline with a terrible pilot contract, taking over our Chicago flying. People have homes, families, and lives there, and many of them are going to get displaced across the country. Just like all the LAX pilots recently did. In no way is Republic flying for AA a good thing for us here at Eagle. I don't know how any Eagle pilot could possibly not be upset about people working for lower pay coming into our system, and taking over our flying. Yeah, it's business but I don't have to like it.
I am sorry that you feel that way. Like I expected, I knew that some guys will be mad about my assessment. However, the 20/mo is not a guarantee... The 50% per class is not a guarantee... and the company can withhold pilots if it decides that it needs them for "operational consideration". Remember the last time people were supposed to go over and got stuck here because the company decided that's what they wanted. Now that we have a contract with 50% flow, and the company cannot furlough more than 5% of the pilots, if we become fat on pilots at least 60% of the new hire classes at AA will be Eagle guys. If we get all this flying, it is guaranteed that we will get short on pilots and people will trickle to AA. I guess there are two options here: Let Eagle grow and Eagle pilots will get stuck at a regional with crappy pay and QOL; or, Eagle shrinks = pilot surplus = mandatory 60% of new hires are Eagle guys. Why create a situation where Eagle guys will get stuck at a regional instead of creating an opportunity for more guys to go over each month.

I am a senior FO, and I do realize that this could hurt me in the short term. However, I must look beyond today and beyond myself in order to see what I really want for my career. I don't want to get stuck at a regional, just like the majority of the senior guys at Eagle did not. They just got cheated by the system. ALPA going to court for that flying is going to screw the Eagle guys all over again. Just my 2c.

I think this is right, Winkley said it too. They just don't have the gates there. However, I don't think they will furlough, they will just force guys to LGA and MIA. No facts behind this, just my opinion.

That engine under the wing burns more gas than a 900 which is why delta is done with them and isn't ordering anymore

I'll take it too...CA expend too much money and they pretend to make the same amount of $$$ as a 1st year FO in a major.

Portions of this statement are not true.

There are other reasons Delta is purchasing 900's. (Think lease returns on crj200's.). It's not because the crj900 is the preferred 76 seat platform from a customer service perspective.

The 20/mo and 50% IS a guarantee.. in writing, in the 4 party signed arbitration award. The VP of flight ops has clearly stated that 20 will go per month and 20 will be the maximum the company will allow. The training center can't handle more than that. They can only withhold "above" 20.

AA will offer to Eagle pilots 50% of the pilot positions (net of any AA pilots returning from deferred furlough status) in that class, and each subsequent class, until 824 Eagle pilots have been hired at AA.

b.
The intent of this agreement is to provide 50% of the AA new hire training slots to 824 AE pilots in such a way that the AE operation is not disrupted.

c.
As such, AE management will release no fewer than 20 AE pilots per month in a month in which AA is entering new hire pilots into training, in an effort to meet the 50%. If AE management determines that they can release more than 20 pilots in any given month, they will do so.
