Quote: Saw my first NJA Phenom in SFO a few weeks ago... All NJA bashing aside, I wasn't impressed with the look or size of it. It looks cheap and not something I'm used to seeing with a QS on the tail.

Do guys enjoy flying it, or is everyone trying to bid out

What kind of Vref speeds and landing distances does it have? What's its MTOW?
The phenom 300 is a great airplane... I agree the brakes are an issue, hard to control if you are not used to it, specially in contaminated runways, the anti-skid and the braking by wire cant be two things that are hard to control. The runways excursions can't be all responsability of the brake system neither... sometimes tailwinds and wet runways are not the greatest combination, and adding a possible WS, you know, it is never the pilots fault...
The interior, design, performance, etc, it is the BEST airplane in its category... Been flying one for a small 91/135, for over a year ( approx. 400h ), and I still love every minute off it.

MTOW is 17968lbs on our Phenom which is an early S/N, Vrefs between 117 and 103, it can take off on a dime, landing in less than 3000ft is normal, climb rates of 5000ft/min at 17200Lbs @ ISA, up to FL230. It is a rocket

Can anyone confirm the "green base" thing? Only a max of 5 on? Is there a list of which bases those are somewhere?

Yes. However, the "short tour" option is limited to a relatively small percentage of the pilots in those bases by seniority. It is about 45 bases that qualify, I think. Which one are you contemplating?

ATL and PDK both qualify.

No problem. You can also switch bases every 15 days, if you like.

Are people getting hired pretty close to the minimum requirements? I'll be hitting them soon and just wondering about my chances.

Anybody out there based in EGE? I live near there and know you can't get it right away, but how long til you can base out of there rather than Denver?

Also, any recent interview hints or gouges, been scouring the internet for my interview this month, but not much current info from anyone who got hired...TIA

That's not how it works. There is a B scale basing system at NetJets. For those hired in the last couple of years plus anyone hired in the future all of the bases are not available. There is no plan to open up those bases to new hires. It was decided that it was not worth negotiating for in the current contract.
