Quote: Yes upgrades are that fast, Hired in May, Captain award Oct.
But isnt that for a virtual base? Seems like someone would have to be single and willing to go at the drop of a hat. Would be difficult to have any sort of normal life

Being that new - quick upgrade notwithstanding - you have virtually nothing invested in G4. Absolutely go to JB!

I say sit tight and wait for United, American or Delta. It would be like dumping your girlfriend for her slightly better looking sister. Go for the hot chick.

What would you do?
I am 47 years old and don't have much vested in AAY
JETBLUE

Period!

I made that switch just over four years ago, and I am so thankful I am here now, and not there. Things are much worse, from what I understand from my friends still there, than they were when I left, and back then, it was a headache going to work. Between the mechanicals, delays, poor operation, and did I say mechanicals, it was such a hassle to just do my job there. While we have our issues here at jetBlue, they are no where near as bad as there. Not to mention, if you're goal is a legacy, it is better to ride things out at jetBlue while you wait, than be stuck at Allegiant.

You say you are a captain there, but haven't been there very long. So it's not as if you are a senior captain who is going to sacrifice some great QOL to leave. If you aren't used to CA pay, then the initial pay cut should be less painful. Not to mention you will get more put into your retirement in year one, than a senior CA at Allegiant gets from the company!

But at the end of the day, if you, as you say, are "used to getting beat down," and prefer that, Allegiant is definitely the place to be!

On second thought, all my career decisions have blown up in my face so do the opposite of what is say and you should do fine.

But in this case, the girlfriend has chronic halitosis and raging case of herpes.

Correct, I could hold a junior FL base within a year or less

I interviewed at JetBlue before Allegient, G4 hired, trained and has me flying the line. JB is just now offering me a job

JB hire process is way way too deep... And yes takes too long , they likes many good candidates cause of this .. Their background check is a waste in my eyes ... Are you gonna stay or take the new offer from blue ?

Did not say I prefer being beat down, in my past life flying freight we flew trips to the sandbox with duty's exceeding 24 hours. The GOM was only a suggestion in a war zone.
