Quote: We had a gal a class or two behind me here at Alaska who came from Emirates, if that helps.
If you see her (NC), tell her we said hello.

Always interesting to read these posts. The OP did interview and did take the job at UAL. He was less than 30yrs old. I was shocked how bad he said things got after he upgraded. Had a good chat with him while fishing for mahi about a month before he left.

And they pay at EK is WAY off. I am a 3rd yr FO. 4 flts last month for 72 hrs...just over $12,000 into my bank on payday.
I contribute 5% of my base salary to get the company contribution, and that has passed 55k in 41 months.

Quote: We have 1st year pilots who are holding lines in just about every NB category. We even have recent hires holding lines on the 75/76. By year 2-3 they will be earning more than a lot of EK Captains. They will be 1/2 way up the Delta list in a decade. It's a very good possibility that pilots hired in 2014/2015 will have Captain upgrade opportunities by the end of this decade, if not sooner. Even if you were 50 you could come to Delta today and have a very nice 15 year stint.
The number one FO on the 717 in NYC was hired in March of this year.
The most junior captain is 1300 numbers senior to him.
