Quote: Are those 175s mostly replacing the -700s?
Not quite......they are replacing 737-700's
But who really cares.....

Hey, we got the "2" in front of the captain pay, so most CAs and some of the senior FOs are happy. They got theirs. Scope and work rules really don't matter.

"I have 5 years left, so I just went for the money. I have to boost my A Plan." I actually appreciate the honesty from the guys who have told me this.

Quote: No way that is the new and improved paint scheme which is much different than the old paint scheme... Just look at the winglets!
That was the result of "rebrand..dddd...dddd..iii...iiiii..ing" and only cost the air group just a few million $$$. What a steal!

Yeah well, that's a nice way of saying, "I really don't give a $hit about you and your career and I'll be happy to throw you under the bus for another $2/hour. Now, don't ******* things up for me since I'm so close to retirement and sit there and quietly jerk my gear!". That would take balls to say and we all know that a good majority of them have "call me Caitlyn" written on their foreheads.

Yeah, it's a d-bag answer for sure, but I still appreciate the honesty. It's better than the guys who voted for the contract, but now try to cover it up. They all act indignant and complain about this and that and how SkyWest is doing all this flying. Look in the mirror, buddy.

This is the weakest pilot group, ever. I'm hoping that with so many younger pilots being hired that our demographic will change a little bit Get some of these good 'ole blue Kool-Aid drinkers outta here and maybe we'll actually vote down the first offer from the company.

Change here is slow if it ever comes at all.....same crowd voted yes to ending a fully funded pension retirement and replacing it with what the IRS defines as a "tax deferred savings plan".......for new hires....in 2009

Actually, I believe the demographic HAS changed. Witness all the F/Os who have upgraded in the last two years. All those guys should be on your side. Additionally, with block representation, you guys could insure the voting rep on the MEC is the F/O rep.

Then YOU would be driving the bus and could make scope a negotiating priority. If that isn't happening, perhaps more of your F/O buddies are voting for the money.

Only time will tell. What's another THREE years?

I know of a few FOs junior to me who voted yes 2 years ago. That was more than a little disappointing.

I would like to see this pilot group grow a pair before I retire.

That's just the SEA Captains ... or maybe the LAX ones, too!

Definitely none of those up here in ANC (except the SEA or LAX captain upgrade transferees...)

You may have a point there since ANC is the most junior base filled with FOs & jr. capts who do not want to be there (but top heavy) but that wasn't always the case. ANC was very senior for quite some time. ANC used to drink the venti sized double-coolaid until ya'll started shrinking, losing turns, flying more all-nighters & 4 day trips, block representation screw job, etc. Historically speaking though, SEA has majority of the "call me Caitlyn" types; you know, "let me just fly for a living and live in the northwest-don't really care if we're the lowest paid 737 pilots" crowd; as if #6 wasn't bad enough. PDX is the same since they have it pretty damn good. They do a good job of keeping commuters out by building lines that are not commutable. LAX, by the greatest margin, has the biggest balls. Let the numbers and facts speak for themselves.
