AA now pays new hires 75 an hour.

A sampling of some realistic data points (I'm not going to compare Year 3 777 Captains or Year 1 A380 FOs as neither company will "ever" have a guy in that position...):

year 9-10 757 FO (where many of us are stuck at FDX) at AA: $161 (757 is Group 3) vs
FDX 144

year 10-11 757 CA at AA $240 vs
FDX 215

year 10-11 767 CA (767-300 is Group 3) at AA $282 vs
FDX 251

Don't even ask me to compare their 777 (group 4) rates to ours....
But if you're are curious...
Year 10-11 777 FO AA $192 vs our $177 and

Year 12+ AA 777 CA:
$284 (2015)
$293 (2016)
$301 (2017)
$311 (2018)
$320 (2019)
vs
Year 15+ FDX $261

I guess we can get used to hearing "But we aren't the passenger guys..." like they kept telling us pre 9/11....

Good friend at AA, been there 18 years. 737 F/O. Are there 9-10 757 Captains at AA? Don't think so...

I get your point, but looks like you are doing the same thing the company does with numbers.

There arent many 9-10 year 75 captains at FDX and will never be again.

This delay is going to really bite the company.

That's just flat out false. Just look at retirements, planned airframes and average bid percentages. There will be 8 year 757 CAs soon.
Also, we can't say AA doesn't have any wide body FOs at 4/5 year pay. Looking at retirements, that too could easily happen.

I like it when the company doesn't want to compare our pay rates to the pax carriers, but we're supposed to train (9/18) like they do

FDX is a good company, but our mid-level managers (sr mgr thru sr vp) are mostly a group of imbeciles......

Here are the company hires for the last 9 years, what is it maybe 300?

So you think the bottom 10% will move to the left seat on the next bid? Or the one after that?

If you were hired after 2001 you will likely spend more of your career in the right seat than the left seat. Many factors for this 727 retirement and Age 65 are the prime reasons.

I sure hope our NC is taking these AA pay rates to show to the mediator at the very next sit down.

How about "AA plus a nickel"?

OR, match AA, and give us a $5 per credit hour night over ride!

How about holiday pay for the junior guys? You want a doctor's note for being sick on a certain holiday, fine, pay us draft pay for any trip that touches the holiday, the day before, or the day after! No draft, no doctor's not required, it's that simple!

The more the company delays, the more I expect out of my NC!

One more thing, a signing bonus is pennies on the dollar of what we have earned. I don't want a signing bonus, I want RETRO PAY!

No retro pay, no deal, it's that simple.

There may not be 8-10 year Capt at AA right now but their contract is in place so that when it does happen that 8 year Capt is compensated accordingly. We often forget that a contract isn't just about RIGHT NOW it is also about the FUTURE and that is why a wimpy 3% (as often referenced) at FDX would be a huge setback for our association. The AA contract is projecting a pay rate that will be attractive to new hires, fair to current employees, and provides some protection against cost of living increases for the FUTURE.

Many came to FDX with the expectation of industry leading pay, historical job security, and rapid advancement to the left seat. Well for me, two of those three no longer apply and as a result it makes that 4th night of hub turning much less tolerable and that 2-day at home recovery period often has me shaking my head in disbelief that I've chosen this lifestyle for the next 20 years.

Adequate compensation is what our association should be demanding! I also hope this contract delay has allowed our NC to reevaluate their position on what we are identifying as appropriate compensation for the schedules we fly, the conditions we fly under, and the challenging lifestyle we are forced to live because of it.
