I heard a rumor that Skywest pilots got a raise to either $30.50 an hour or $36.50 an hour? Is it true? Which one is it?


Please do not refer me to the 15,000 plus page post on Skywest for the answer. Major news stories like these should be broken into their own thread. I don't have hundreds of hours to waste reading every thread, and I hope you don't either.

Nope. On our new deal we signed in, we gave the company the right to negotiate a first year deal directly with SAPA. No longer does a first year increase go out to pilot wide vote. Now all they have to do is just get SAPA to sign off on any increase. And history has proven that a majority of SAPA wants to do what is best for the company, not necessarily the pilots.

They can increase to $36.50 without asking. I'm saying that before first year pay was always part of the TA. In our latest deal, we gave away the right to vote on any first year pay increase. So management can increase to $36.50, but in the past they would have to have the pilots vote if they wanted to go higher. Now they just have to get SAPA to agree, and we know how difficult that will be....

Well at some point first year pay will be unable to surpass second year pay, so I think you're safe.

First year pay does surpass second year pay and beyond if you assume they raise it to $36.50 and still offer new hires the $7500 bonus. If all options are exercised that would make first year pay pretty close to 8th year top out pay.

I feel there is an opinion that when you press it a box comes up. In this box you are able to type words that may result in an answer if you push the button called "search". It's a magical thing, rarely seen by outsiders, yet when used produces results no one would have expected! Haha
