Quote: There's a new article/interview with the Ingram up on Flight Global, he says the joint venture is expected to be approved soon. Hopefully so!
.

Really? He just says their future expansion includes Australia, New Zealand, US East Coast, and Japan.

"The Fukuoka and Haneda flights will anchor the airline’s future joint venture with Japan Airlines, which Ingram anticipates will soon be granted antitrust immunity by the US Department of Transportation. The joint venture is a huge win for the small airline, and will allow metal-neutral pricing and more-efficient passenger processing across the airlines’ networks."

This was published on the 21st so maybe the JV isn't dead in the water after all.

Wondering if there are any Hawaiian Airlines pilots on here that can confirm or deny that they have a company policy regarding pilots being able to have beards? If yes, how exactly is it worded in your Flight Operations Manual or equivalent ops manual.

Air Canada now allows beards after the commissioned a study in 2016 that confirms that short beards do not effect the seal of transport category aircraft. see link:

Any info from Hawaiian pilots would be much appreciated.

Think there will be another hiring window open, or probably not until fall again?

I think they have interviews scheduled all the way out into May from the last window.

if I did not already post this, the interview team made it VERY clear they do not hire for vacancies. They hire into a pool and the training department is responsible for filling vacancies.

Unfortunately, I suspect this thread will be quiet for a while. However, I want to pass on my gratitude to HAL during these uncertain times. I was asked during my interview if I had experience on a HAL flight. At the time my only experience was one inter-island flight four years ago.

I had the pleasure yesterday afternoon to non-rev back to the mainland for my current job. Due to the current low demand, it was unclear where to list for a flight so I proceeded to the gate. The gate agents told me I should have listed at the ticket counter, but were quick to assist. The Captain made sure to welcome me when he passed by and authorized my pass request before boarding the aircraft. A gate agent later called me back up to upgrade my seat. When I was boarding the aircraft, the Captain was trying to walk back up the jet bridge to ensure all non-revs were accommodated. During the flight, the cabin crew was welcoming and extremely hospitable! Thank you all for what you do and continuing to spread the Aloha Spirit during these stressful times!
