The conversation about open time lead me to this.

In the IAH B756 base- the long haul Europe and SA trips drop into open time and are being flown by reserves nearly every day.

Either MUC, LHR, GRU, SCL and sometimes several in a day are now showing up in open time. It's like there is some kind of flu bug on the 767-300.

Before the last contract- the 767 long haul flying was considered the cream and went very senior and was rarely seen in open time. That included 767-200, which paid WB.

I am guessing that people's motivation to put up with all nighters, foreign language, customs, and long range nave has been dampened by the fact that the 767-3 pays the same as the 757-3.

Yep check who is the cPT on those trips.

"who is the cPT on these trips?" What does that mean?

The senior bubbas on the B756 fleet only flew the 400. They stridently object to the 400 flying going away. I think they will chase the 777 or 787 now that the good high paying flying is gone.

BTW, the pay on the 300 is unsatisfactory. Why did ALPA do that?

Maybe the captain of record on those trips isn't very friendly.

Because Jay Pierce tried to make his side look more like a big airline and equivalent to the UAL side for senority integration. The UAL side accepted it to stop the JP and JS carnage to the UAL pilot seniority. Since then the combined pilot group agreed to a 2 year extension for a little raise instead of making meaningful changes to the contract.

Hence, not ALPA's fault - it's the pilots greed. Own up!

Still in denial about the number of scabs in Houston?

It's about the trip being a 4 day trip vs 3 day. What used to earn 80 hrs and 18 days off earns the same with 14 days off. Most of the scabs have jumped to the 787. I agree that the pay on the 67 should be wide body pay

That about sums it up.
