Quote: I think the recall rate will increase as they go up the list. The people getting called now are coming back to fly on reserve, some of them on first year pay. The most senior guys can hold group 2 CA or group 4 FO.
I think the opposite. Many of them are probably at cush positions at other airlines for the last 10+ years.

I think the real variable is what each of them see's going forward. Is where they are the better projected ROI then where they would be at AA ?

No firm answer or accurate crystal ball and either way, it's going to be a crapshoot. In the past, the decision was abstract, but soon it will be real and no do overs. I'm sure more then a few a squirming on the fence.

Wow. It sounds like the more senior pilots have been out more than 15 years.

I think a bunch of the senior guys on furlough took the "in stead" furlough. I would guess some of them went back to the military to get a retirement. Keep in mind the senior guys at the top of the list were furloughed last and might not have the cush jobs guys furloughed earlier might have.
Anyone know how many waves the furloughs happened in and what years they happened? Some of the senior guys may have seen the writing on the wall and sent apps out, taking an "in stead" furlough once offered a job elsewhere.

Even if they say yes to returning, they are not done until they no show for the class.

Bottom guy gets furloughed first = first opportunity at the next job.
Last guy furloughed might have had fewer options.

Some 'stand in stead' furloughs did it to run businesses full time, fly overseas, etc.

We'll know what everyone decided sometime in the 3rd qtr.

Thanks - I've been taking a C&R break for my own sanity, and haven't been on aapilots in a while, just JetNet to check out my wife's new Gucci bag...

And what's this company email you speak of?!?
