UPS informed the IPA today of their intent to hire an additional 63 pilots over the course of the next few months.
The first class of approximately 20 pilots will begin sometime in June.
UPS said that the decision to hire these additional pilots is driven by “attrition and anticipated retirements.” Additional hiring will be driven by “the business needs of the Company” which will dictate “the timing and pace of future pilot job opportunities” according the Company.

I'll believe it when I get a phone call. And then I'll tell them, thanks, but no thanks...........

The UPS high for me has long been over.....

My spot in the pool can go to someone else....

Good luck everyone......

M40, where did you get hired?

What I would give to hear the conversations from the arrogant UPS HR folks when poolies decline.

I didn't get hired anywhere. I am just going to choose not to leave where I am at currently should I get a call soon.

These are well educated and thought out reasons for my decision based on current facts and industry trends...

I'm glad I have had the last 6 months in the pool to evaluate the bigger picture instead of making a bad decision by chasing a dream.....

UPS is not the same company it was 10-15 years ago.

I heard they were going to hire 65 or 70, but then did a cost benefit analysis and decided on 63.
