if we end up with the 190, I think you are right. If its the 195, I don't think it will be that junior. The 195 pay, while low, is not near as low as the 190 pay.

So how long would it take a new hire to get to SLC . . . on any aircraft.

SkiUtah, that depends. There is not much movement at SLC and SkyWest just keeps growing. Delta might order small aircraft and the 737-700 is supposed to be a SLC aircraft, isn't it? Didn't I read that somewhere?

But the first step in getting a domicile is getting the class date. Anyone got good gouge on how long it takes to get a class after the "cleared for training" confirmation?

Quote: I remember talking to a buddy of mine whos pops flew the 767 international as an FO and had such high seniority and a solid schedule that he didn't want to give it up.

I was once told by an old retired TWA guy to take upgrade as soon as you can. If you wait, you might get to comfortable with your schedule and end up like the guy you are talking about. Not wanting to upgrade due to the schedule. I'm not an airline guy so I don't know if this logic is flawed but I guess it makes sense.

SkiUtah,

We had new hires get the -800 in SLC on the last bid. That being said with our current problem of no one bidding the NYC 767ER, new hires may find themselves assigned that as a base.

Take the left seat. Something to take into account is the uncertainty of the industry. If one gets furloughed, the company goes out of business or any reason exists that makes you want to leave the company, the PIC time will do much more for you than right seat time if you're looking for another flying job.

I recall a few 11-13 month captains.

Since everyone is so curious about our bases, I ran the lowest seniority pilot from the last bid. Keep in mind we had 56 slots in the NYC 767 Intl category go unfilled, 33 slots in the ATL 767 Domestic and I believe 9 in the ATL 767 Intl category.

ATL 767 ER - 14 May 07 - unfilled slots
NYC 767 ER - 19 Mar 07 - unfilled slots
ATL 767 Dom - 07 May 01 - unfilled slots
LAX 767 Dom - 05 Feb 01
ATL 737-800 - 14 May 07
SLC 737-800 - 19 Mar 07
