Quote: The January bid pack only had 6 lines that paid over 8 hours per day including all block override. That's about 3% of the lines not counting VTO's.

3% would not be the average.
Quote: Once you include the block over 8 that changes the dynamic of what lines you bid. 3% is simply incorrect. I use FXcal & it REALLY helps to figure out the lines you bid. I'm sure BidX has a similar function but to just look at the bid pack you don't get a realistic view of the pay. Good luck to all and every airplane has advantages.
If you read my post again you will see that I did include block override. Yes, BidX has a similar feature which I use.

When I say averaging over 8 hours per day I am talking about the whole month. IE.. you work 10 days and get paid 80 hours. You are right, 3% is incorrect, it's 3.077%.

Quote: Never said 15 days was the average. I said, "15 days is the average 4 months anyway", not 4 week months. Let me clarify. 4 months out of the year are 5 week months. 15 days tends to be the average or low during a 5 week month, which happens 4 times a year.

Pretty sure 8 months are 4 week months and 4 weeks are 5 week months. So 8 months at 12 days and 4 months at 15 days. 3 extra days of work. so 3x4 =12 so to fit in your equation, that is an extra 6.4 hours per month so 93.2 + 6.4 = 99.6 (your numbers)

This doesn't take into account extensions, bump and makeup, and I'm not sure about you but I'm not senior enough to always conflict carryover, or not get carryover. So even when I protect min days off, sometimes I get an extra 2 to 3 days of work.

Let me state, for the record. I am not saying there is any guarantee with any seat and pay. I was just stating what the first officers that I have flown with on the 777 have conveyed to me.

Sorry, misunderstood your 15 day comment.

93.2 hours was for working 13 days in a month, not 12.

If you have 8 12 day months and 4 15 day months you come up with 998.4 hours. Add 120 hours for block override, which is on the high end, and you get 1,118.4 hours in a year. A 15 year F/O with international override makes 217.33/hour. That total comes up to a little over $243k.

I was an over 15 year F/O not that long ago and I never made $250k. That's my experience. I did bid max days off, conflicted carry over, and if I got bumped, I stayed home. Different strokes I guess.

I agree with your numbers and did understand 13 day month.
So, your min days work shows 243 with high block override. But, consider 5 days of training at 4.5 is another $4900, if you can't conflict. I unfortunately can't get max days off every month nor can a lot of people. So even if one only works 2 extra days that year, added to your training and it would put you over the 250 mark with not a lot of extra days but a high block override. All I am repeating from the people I talk to is that it isn't that cosmic to do. I'm with you, you can always make more money but you can't always make more time.

I thought bumps on 777 were rare. I thought they just changed you to rfo.

Bumps do happen - sometimes you are changed to an RFO for the first leg but not always. It depends on how the trip starts.

I thought 777 pay expectation was a pertinent topic. But just me. Off the record the 76 bid pack sucks and is getting worse.

They are all getting worse.
