Quote: The union isn’t aware that the pilot group wants higher pay, better reserve rules, and non-metered flow?
Agree, it isn't rocket science. Why do we need to write emails to the union spelling out the obvious?

This is a stepping stone for 90%of us, make it worth our time while we are here (pay increases/reserve rules) and make that time as short as we can (increase flow) it isn't that hard to figure out and they shouldn't need us to tell them.

So can a senior guy who was just forced to upgrade, upgrade in one jet, then immediately turn around and bid to switch to a different jet 3 months later or whenever the next vacancy bid is?

No. You're seat locked for 2 years in equipment.

How senior? They will incur the flow lock by bidding to a new jet, so they should be careful if they want to flow.

It isn't just a matter of a flow lock. When you upgrade, you are on an equipment seat lock on the equipment you upgrade into for 2 years. There isn't any being careful or not in the equation, they cannot bid another jet for 2 years.

So what am I missing when in the contract I read that there is no training freeze for a displacement to captain.

Got an Hi6 about a PVD for Chicago CA&FO. How does that work? Is that a paid day off?

I thought the last bid specifically said six month for flow, but this one did not day that.

But if you were displaced, there was no equipment training seat lock (subject to the 30% rule). I saw someone else refer to that earlier in another post.

Oh...you know what, I misread your post. I was thinking you were talking about just an old fashion upgrade. Not a displacement to upgrade. Well, in that case then I wouldn't see why you couldn't bid another jet as soon as you could hold it. Shouldn't be a flow or equipment lock in that case.

I don't believe you have a seat lock when you are displaced to CA. I think you can bid out of it right away on the next vacancy, but then are held to the 2 year seat lock (1 year seat lock to flow). I think you could also PDIS to a different CA seat and not be held to the seat locks, but I could be wrong.
