Quote: The 330-200s are the newest in the fleet with the more-powerful Rolls Royce engines. They started arriving in 2008. The 330-300s are the ones the company doesn't like. They're older (late 90s) and have the underpowered Pratts.

When do they start parking the 300s?

Don't know. Just passing word from a planner. Hasn't the 787 picked up a few already?

If not a 787 then probably outsource it to British Airways.

They just started putting the internet on the 300s so it seems like they are gonna keep them a little longer than planned

Full circle back to the rumored A330-800 order. When there are just the remaining 767 and 788/9 some other aircraft needs to pick-up the slack IF they want to continue those ORD routes. Management continues to stress the importance of the ORD hub but all I see is downsizing. Anyway, I personally do not think it is a priority over the other bases/hubs right now...

All that talk was made whilst Scooter the Wonder Boy was here. When he bailed for United, things changed. Long-range planning here is "How do the evening flights look?"

Thread resurrection.

With the latest movement, any updates on speed of movement to a Gp IV FO position? Or maybe a better way to ask: is there movement out of the right seat (besides retirements) to facilitate movement lately?

Will PHL be the next 78 base? If so, and guesses on when? Most likely based on upcoming 78 deliveries?
