and LAX base now.

New hire here, July 6th class. I was prompted to change my password for SWOL today and it looks like I have full access to it now. I was looking around the travel part of the website and it said I was active and could add people to flight benefits. Does this mean I could go use them right now? Just wondering how all of this works. Thanks

I'd assume so. Use the 'contact the travel center' text feature through swol. They're actually very helpful and quick to respond during their open hours.

I think there is or was a waiting period, similar to waiting a minimum number of days prior to insurance benefits kicking in. If you were a cadet/trained in pathway, you might have an earlier hire date which makes you eligible for benefits sooner, perhaps in the weeks leading up to training. You should be able to add people to your profile regardless. There’s a link for the travel manual, which breaks it down into different chapters for each partner, how to enroll, any fees, and who you can add (spouse, parents, buddies, etc). That’s good to get entered sooner than later, so your travel profile can be synced up with the partner travel benefits.

If you have someone listed as Delta Companion/UA Friend/AA Companion, do you need to fly with that individual on the same itinerary or can they take flights without you?

You do not need to fly with one of your pass riders.

Question on parents...

My parents are deceased. Will I be able to list my wife's mother and step-dad as my parents? Does it depend on the carrier?

From what I've read in other forums it seems like a yes for PSA/AA
