Why? It’s the same exact training footprint no? If they make them all get CTP own their own at least. Seriously don’t understand the CFI hate. And the cadets who demonstrated interest in the company for years are supposed to get bumped by someone who just needs a job now? They all worked hard too. Were the CFIs supposed to know a once in a decade crash was coming and buy their ATP when they were being handed out? I seriously don’t understand the hate on people who didn’t have the benefit to be as far along as others when it all hit the fan. Get over yourselves, you’re not a god with a 145 type.

I think some are forgetting they started out as a low time pilot one day as well and someone trusted them and gave them a chance. Is a former 121 pilot more qualified than a CFI? Of course but there's no need to look down on someone else like that. Some of the CFIs who have been waiting for a year now, have gotten laid off as well, so it's not only the compass/ express jet guys. There is some value in the cadets and applicants with CJOs who have been patiently waiting and have been loyal to OO. Sent from my SM-A516U1 using Tapatalk |

It's not hating on the CFI or thinking they will take more time or sim rides to pass.
It's the cost of the CTP itself, both in instructor time, and sim time. If OO can bring in 10 pilots without needing to pay for those costs, they are money ahead. But will they be money ahead in the long run? Chip plays the long game. If he thinks paying for a CFI to go through CTP will have a pilot around for 5 years instead of 3 years those costs are amortized with less training overall. Anyone here is just speculating on what is going to happen long term. The chips will fall where they do, and no amount of stressing will change that. This whole upheaval is just part of the game, and some will not be cut out for it, while others will thrive in the ups and downs. new news in an unknown time in the future. |

Please take a few moments to read what I posted. I asked how far back in the pool I would be BEHIND the cfi's. if I thought I was so mighty with my type rating (in the 170/175) why would I be bootlicking on forums to other regional pilots??? I know CFI's worked hard for that slot because most of us were CFI's. I don't know where you summoned some kinda god complex but take a few steps down pal. |
