No. Tell that to the captains I fly with on a regular basis that for one reason or another they are not getting a call. If you can do so, there is nothing stopping you from going somewhere else before you flow or before you hit a hypothetical interview benchmark.
In todays hiring environment you can get to a major relatively quick if you have kept your nose clean but as we all know that can change quickly. A flow is a guaranteed backup plan which we should all have. In today's environment, you can get to a major quickly without flow. In the opposite environment, flow isn't going to help much anyway. Flow programs are retention programs for regional airlines, and retention = stagnation. |

Oh you mean the captains that haven't had their resume/app reviewed? the ones that haven't been to a job fair? the ones that don't do any extra involvement at work? the ones that don't volunteer outside of work? the ones that don't want to get a college degree online?

Flow programs are retention programs for regional airlines, and retention = stagnation. This past/current regional/major system is broken and you’ve obviously been apart of it for too long and you’re jaded. We don’t deserve an A/B scale. A flow or guaranteed interview gets everyone there that wants to be. It’s a long time coming and should’ve been here long ago. |
