LGA isn't the new hire default like it was last winter, it's not growing and some east coast folks are staying put. I'm a 12/18 hire and my first month based in DEN (May) I flew 15 hrs. Last two bids everyone that came in is senior to me. I'm looking at reserve for the summer at least if not longer. If you want DEN and want to fly go CRJ. DEN is one of the smallest ERJ bases. DEN ERJ is stagnant while DEN CRJ is growing.

BOI isn't really growing either. Just filling vacancies from people transferring/upgrading/leaving.

Thanks so much for the info.
Is there anyway to tell which base has more flying vs another?

OO ERJ bases from biggest to smallest: ORD-SLC-SFO-BOI-SAN-DEN-LGA-PDX-LAX-SEA. Some in the middle are very close but that should give you a general idea.

Just my $0.02, but if you don’t want to sit reserve forever, you might want to think long and hard about going with the CRJ.
You’ll actually fly and... drumroll... hold a line right out of training!

This plus upgrading sooner. You’ll probably be a captain longer than an FO and the CRJ upgrades are years quicker than the 175.

From where I'm sitting as second to the plug in DEN on the ERJ it is entirely within the realm of possibility that I will be able to hold CRJ CA somewhere in the system before I hold a line as a ERJ FO in DEN.

I hear ya. Definitely thought about that when choosing a class date. However for me personally. Starting the quickest was more important and I was able to jump up class dates almost 2 months making the switch.

Which ERJ base is most Junior? I.E. which base can I hold a line the fastest?
Thanks again.

I've got that box checked already or I would be worried!

Question

How does LGA 175 reserve time compare to DFW CRJ reserve time? Trying to make my airframe and base decision. I am aware of the 175 upgrade being much longer, I’m mostly interested in schedule QOL which I hear is about getting a line faster. Is it true the CRJ would fly more hours per year? Thanks all!

Can anyone comment on the CRJ trips out of ORD vs DEN? Seems like a lot of longer legs on the 200 out of DEN vs short hops out of ORD. Thanks!
