The DVR (domicile vacancy report) currently shows 53 CRJ FOs in SFO with plans to increase it to 58. The bid closes next Tuesday. By the end of next week they could award 5, or perhaps less than that, or even way more. If any of the current SFO CRJ FOs transfer out, transition, or upgrade in this bid there should be more slots available than the 5.

The DVR is an approximation. The numbers don't always play out. As someone else said, just bid what you want and hope it happens..

I start my CRJ class on the 14th of June, I'm trying find the flows for the CRJ, I found the limitations and profiles in the SOP, but cant find the flows. Are those given out in indoc or am I looking in the wrong place?

Don't worry about them right now. You'll get to them in ground school.

Alright, I was just wondering because I read through a couple of threads saying they expect you to know flows in day one of sim..I dont know how accurate that is

Yes you do need to know them for sims, but that is after you will learn them and practice them in ground school. Just show up day one ready to learn and study what they tell you to from that day forward and you’ll be fine.

I was wondering if there was much of a difference between being based in ORD v. DFW on the CRJ. Planning on moving where I'm based and didn't know if there was more of an advantage with either, it seems seniority is similar.

Also, what is a pretty typical trip on the 200 like as far as legs per day, total days, and hours credited?

ORD is more junior. DFW was pretty junior when it opened, but it has stagnated. So unless they open more vacancies than it is going to stay more senior than ORD.

As far as legs, obviously the 200 is going to have more legs per day than the 700 out of DFW on average. There are outlier trips, but the 200 flies lots of legs every day. Living in base in ORD you could probably pick up some locals and 2-3 days no problem once you get some seniority which will happen quick with 25+ of every new hire class being based there every couple weeks. DFW has a mix of everything but not as many locals.

Question for the group, looks like this is the thread to tag SkyWest questions on to.

I'm working toward my required ratings as a part of a mid-life career change, and have been advised to look at SkyWest by other close airline pilot friends. None of them worked there (all ex-military and went direct to a major), but have great things to say about the FO/CA’s that they fly with from SkyWest. Also, a DFW domicile would be icing on the cake for me. Ultimately though, I’ve worked all over the world short notice (oil and gas), so moving some place to work is just part of the deal to me.

What things do I need to do to position myself to get hired by SkyWest that are not on the recruiting page? I know realistically at my age that all the opportunities won’t be open to me, but my goal is to be a CA someday at a quality regional with a good schedule. I don't have much flight time right now, ~900 hours and should have my ME by the end of the year.

Nothing is guaranteed with hiring trends, but realistically is a guy like me a good candidate? Do they care about age, or type of degree, veteran status? I've got a clean record both civil and military (enlisted), and in good health (always kept my medical). Don’t know if those make me more competitive or maybe they don’t matter at all to HR.
