I don't know what you mean by silence. We have people joining the effort weekly.

You guys still need 80% more information? A way's off is quite an understatement.

I have no idea about how these things work. If all the pilot group or a vast majority decides they want to join ALPA, is that just a matter of paperwork so to speak? Or Skywest would have to approve/negotiate first. Just curiosity.

Astronomical amount of legal and lawyer involvement would be the best way to put it. Let's just say there would be a few attorney's buying new boats and cars after all is said and done.

My guess is even among the intersection of the set of those supporting a union and those on Facebook, the majority of that set does not want their full real name plastered on a Facebook Page for management to see.

With over 5k pilots, why not do an in-house, e.g. SAPA?

Exactly. Team up with SWA’s union pull resources to get better legal/insurance rates. Ect... problem is. People wont get involved. Look at the PBS window shortening survey. Only 28% of the pilot group has even bothered to click a few buttons that directly effects everyone...

People don't vote on things SAPA because they've lost faith in the organization. An in house union would be cost prohibitive to get started and likely by near 5% in dues to have any real financial backing. Why do we need to try and reinvent the wheel? By the way, 28% is waaaaaay better participation than they got from their vacation survey and that didn't stop them from putting that turd into policy.
