Default Ord terminal renovations

Where is the flying likely to shift too while ORD undergoes the terminal renovations?

DEN sounds like a good candidate to me.

Is it confirmed they’re tearing down terminal 2 before building the new regional gates parallel to C/B? There’s no reason that can’t be finished before the Y gets demolished.

I believe this is the plan. They can’t wind down the majority of UAX ops while they tear down E/F. They will build the new island first.

That’s what I figured. Aside from some potential taxi headaches I feel like this shouldn’t affect overall capacity. Fingers crossed skybridge survives.

Seconded. I’ll be praying for skybridge.

How much flying is going to be reduced during the renovation? Does that mean new guys will be on reserve longer?

Did you read any of the above posts? If they do it right, there won’t need to be a reduction at all. They will probably build the new terminal before tearing the old one down.

I don’t think they have picked a winning design yet.

This site seems to indicate the Satellite Terminals will be completed, before Terminal 2 work gets going?
