Here is a question I have on top of this.
I have over 1000hrs TPIC, however it is all single engine. I assume I would be fine after completing an ample amount (1000?) of SIC multi 121 time as most applications do not specify TPIC under 121 ops.
Is this assumption correct? or should I still be planning for upgrade ASAP and going back on reserve?

Some do specify multi TPIC as a requirement. Some don’t specify but it’s still basically a requirement because every other guy/gal applying will have it. If you want to move on, upgrade and say hello to reserve again.

Is it wrong to quote yourself in responding to.a question that has been asked before.
Ifthe uncertainty of that answer scares you then you're going to have a tough time dealing with the daily fiasco of weather deviations, broken airplanes, late reroutes, late arriving airplanes or FAs, and last minute gate changes.
If you can tell me what the price of bitcoin or dogecoin will be the day you hit the line, I'll tell you how long it will take to hold a line.
Reserve awards have been anywhere from the remainder of the month of finishing IOE to three years in the right seat, and up to 15 years in the left seat.
It all depends on the type aircraft, domicile, whether that domicile is growing, shrinking, going away, or opening. And each of those answers change on a daily basis.

If I told you it could be a couple weeks of reserve to a couple years, that would be an accurate answer.

My companywide seniority number went up thirty spots this week. This week!
I call myself a fairly new 121 pilot yet there’s somehow 700 or 800 listed below me.
None can predict reserve times. But at this pace, this movement of seniority, I think you can find the answer you need.
Focus on getting through training. Not what it will be like after. There was a fairly high amount of new FOs who left the company for whatever reason last month. Whether shown the door, escorted, or willingly walked out….

[QUOTE=Wheelsup69;3274647]Any month I guess? /QUOTE]
April 2020. #1 pilot on the seniority list had 40+ years of service and was on reserve
new hire Feb 2020 who finished SIM LOE before the shutdown is probably still on reserve, #1student hired upon reopening hiring within the past month or so will have a wave of people below them and will probably have 1 month of reserve max.

My experience pre-COVID at UA. A class of 36 was a breakdown of 24 prior military, 11 RJ and 1 corporate pilot. All 11 from the RJ world were CA’s. 5 were LCA’s, 3 were former UA interns, 2 had parents who fly for UA and the last one was a training center dude at his regional. The lowest TPIC amongst the RJ drivers was 500hrs.

Maybe you’re not a millennial so I apologize for the confusion, that’s sarcasm for “nobody cares”.
Every regional is suffering attrition in both seats right now. Idk if that was meant as a brag, it’s a weak one if it was, 5 is nothing compared to how many FO’s we’ve lost in the past few months. UA is not the only shop hiring atm.
