I don't think people will be waiting that long. With so many airlines dropping the PIC requirement, I think the new benchmark will more commonly be >1000 hours TURBINE. They won't care what seat you've been in.

LLCs will soon be taking the pilots that regionals used to poach. Then the regionals will die on the vine with the lifers having to start over at the bottom anyway junior to guys who left years earlier. It’s going to be a messy end to the regional world and one that will teach many lessons.
