CRJ IOE wait time

Best guess I have is that person is in a position to not require sim to get current again and that they won’t have an issue consolidating where that isn’t the case for a large portion of us waiting

Before you pass judgment. He or she could have Military orders.. They may be trying to get them done so they don't have to come back to a full course again when they get back.. So go easy before you hold up the pitch fork…

Also don't be mad at this person who got scheduled. He is very lucky to get a trip scheduled. There's most likely more to scheduling then we're being told. I know we're all upset at how long this is taking to get scheduled but management is working on it. I know this email that was sent was lacking but use the best of this paid vacation and do some other flying or do some travelling and jump seat when you can. SkyWest doesn't like this either as they're losing money having to pay us to wait and also having to get guys back in the sim who have disqualified while waiting.

For those of you bringing out the pitchforks, I can’t wait to see how unfair life is for you on the line. Maybe Part 121 is not the right career for you.
It’s been said before: take advantage of this free extended paid vacation. There are so many productive things you can do!

This is the point. All of this talk like "You will hate 121 life" like what??? Jumping 400 spots ahead of the line for IOE are you serious?

For example: UAL alone is hiring approx. 150/month. That equates to 900 pilots ahead of you in 6 months. Now of all times would be the time the get your hours and move on.

I understand that you want to hit the line as soon as possible. I am totally with you on wanting to fly now, I really am. The problem is all Regionals (not just OO) are hemorrhaging badly and they are trying to do everything they can to stay alive, even if that means paying over a million dollars a month to keep 400 FOs sidelined while they prioritize CA LOE and other important targets. Do you think HQ is not aware of what this is costing them? There is a reason why they are doing this.
The problem is there is not a lot anyone can do. Wanna pick up and leave for another Regional? You will be set back even further timewise. Do you want to complain to your Union? Nothing you can do there. (You haven’t been saying these things, just presenting rhetorical questions) SkyWest owns the process here and there is not much anyone can do except stay positive and realize that the entire Part 121 industry is cruel when times are tough. That is the reality of this industry.
Stay positive, stay studying to be on top of things, keep doing observation rides, take time to travel or do fun things, and position yourself to crush it when you get scheduled sometime soon.
