works like a champ, you be shocked to know that the duece can keep 250 till 5 miles and being a few hundred feet high on the glide slope, b pump on drop the gear, throw full boards slightly shallow out till under 200 put flaps 20 at about 1200’ drop the rest of the flaps and put boards away just before 1000, will be on speed and glideslope just before 500’. Not something you do everytime but is perfectly safe and meets all stability and speed criteria.

Except you have to have flaps and gear out by 1500 and be stable by 1000?

I only know zw and it’s configured by 1000, stable by 500. Either way should be able to keep 250 till 7 miles

That's sporting but I guess it depends on the airplane. Beta would help with that.

Thanks, didn’t remember that. Thought at most you’d get a temporary caution for the high demand. Guess I haven’t dropped only the gear in awhile.

Goose my brakes are hot, give me the B pumps!
yes. They are working on solving it. Memo to come out soon reaffirming that there is no shortage, everything is under control and a major announcement will ensure captains are very happy. Next year, when it is too late and the last plane is being parked as the cost of business becomes unsustainable. The name will be added to the list of regionals such as comair, ACA, Sun Air, American Eagle. Etc etc. The lifers will say they never saw it coming. Even though it’s coming like a freight train.

What a great example of things to never do at OO. You'll have a call from the FOQA gods before you set the brake.

Yeah no kidding. It’s funny how some of the instructors in training would say “we don’t go around enough, we have the least amount of go arounds of any airline!”.

Yes, that’s what happens when you have strict stabilized approach criteria that is highly monitored by FOQA. Basically Skywest pilots slow down early to assure they’ll be stabilized by 1000 which results the poor SOB’s behind them being forced to go around.
