Surprisingly I just got an automated email today asking me to complete a transfer form and the paperwork seems to indicate a 4/17 class date in SLC (4/7 CTP date). No communication from an actual person or anything so I don't know for sure what to make of it, but curious if anyone else has heard anything.
I interviewed 30 Nov and got the CJO on 12 Dec but have heard nothing from them other than we will let you know when we have more info. No response from the recruiter other than that. No class date has ever been established.

You're right, the portal shows those dates under travel details. I also just got the email from Employment Standards to complete the required tasks (background check, paperwork, etc.).

I have no idea what aircraft (I told my recruiter long ago I'd take whatever would give me the earliest class date, so I'm guessing CRJ).

Definitely strange to get a class date out of the blue when it seems dates are getting pushed back. I assume mine will too, but why give it to me in the first place then at this point?

Definitely strange but it seems like it’s all random. Some people in the cancelled 2/20 CRJ class received a 3/20 class date and others in the same class same plane did not. Who really knows what’s going on now.

Default Plans Moving Forward

Just my two cents... as soon as I heard the news about SkyWest throttling back their training department for FO's I immediately got onto airline apps and submitted applications to every single 121 operator. Though being fairly qualified for a FO position , (0 checkride failures, atp mins, 200hrs multi) I only heard back from 3 operators. Commute air isnt hiring new FO's until "late 2023". GoJet isn't even interviewing candidates until mid to late may, and most other operators are in the same boat. I would recommend sending applications out to everyone, including jobs on climbto350 and not quitting your 91, 135 or CFI job until you have a seat in class. I assume skywest may be several to many months until we all get fed into the program, and may have delays through training even if we do get a class date. I got super lucky and got a class date at another 121 regional starting 4/14 and will be taking that and unfortunately not waiting for skywest... A huge bummer for me, since I got into aviation I have always wanted to fly the ERJ for them. Likely just bad timing for us all...

Good luck everyone! Keep your heads up.

Congrats, that's the class date for people who got canceled on Feb 24th ATPCTP for CRJ.

See you in class

Skywest - without a direct flow - may actually win the captain war. Aviate has ramped up for Mesa and given the projected dates the entire airline will be consumed by United by late 2025. I don’t see how it survives long. I’m 80 pct in ca rankings and I’m supposed to go in just about a year. That means only the 20 pct below me remains in a year. With the dearth of upgrades I don’t see the airline surviving. Skywest on the other hand will likely retain captains longer and last through the hiring blitz.
