I'm curious if the contract came up during discussions. I don't think anyone is getting hired now without signing it.

I'm also under the impression that there's a pool waiting for class dates into next year.

You seem right until December 2026. That's a lot of time to wait it out, but it seems it's back to normal.

Bear in mind that the economic state is volatile, and hiring and airline needs change quickly. What an airline states today, and what the current forecast may be, does not necessarily hold true tomorrow.

Likely this. I don’t agree with the premise but when the regionals can afford to be picky, second career types seem to be the first group weeded out of the application stack.

As for the other banter on here. Everyone is free to interpret text as they wish. My disinterested third opinion is that the original post did not come across as entitled but rather a bit befuddled as to the outcome without a stated reason. I believe that is acceptable.

Carry on.

I have a hard time believing this is actually a thing. Second career types are getting hired all over the place, probably at the same rate as the first career people. This is overblown like those who think "Metering" is a bigger thing then it actually is. Metering has been used as an excuse for a poor resume more than once.

Reality is that the days of hiring 160 a month are over.. heard classes are under 10 pilots a month now.. so if they are still interviewing 300 a month. The odds are stacked against you unless you ate exactly what they are looking for…

Should I read anything into not even getting the interview?
FWIW, ATP complete, just over 1500 Total, ~750 Single-engine fighter, ~550 Multi-engine fighter. Took a day to get the survey request, then the next day got the TBNT.

That is hard to read. 1500 Total, ATP/CTP only, and only jet time is 2 hours in a G280 and I start class in August. Army from 2002-2012 so not sure why they wouldn’t eat you up and put you in right away.

No clue. I assume it’s the hiring environment. I would be extremely grateful for a CJO anywhere right now.

It's because there's no way you will stick around for 2500 hours at skywest. Work the majors - apply to AA/uA/DL/WN/UPS. Talk to the recruiters. You may not get anything NOW, but when things speed up late this year/early next that will get traction.
