Default Skywest PSP Base

Is this a Brasilia base or both aircraft have crews there? All I really know is that it is in fact a PSP base.

Thank you

Small base but it's both a Brasilia and CRJ base. Pretty junior for the Brasilia not so much for the CRJ

It's a small base for both aircraft. On the Brasilia it's extremely junior for both FOs and captains. On the CRJ it's one of the most senior captain bases and pretty senior for FOs.

Only about 20 minutes in Indio so will be great. Hopefully I can apply sometime next year.

Brasilia looks like an awesome airplane, also reserve must be very short in PSP if it's so junior than.

Thanks guys.

If you're 20 min away you'll be in heaven on reserve at PSP. I just transferred to FAT for more flying and a line, but reserves hardly fly at PSP. I was there for 4 months, and it probably would have been another couple for a composite line.

I'm not sure FAT will be any better unless you're sure you can hold a line. In 6 months on reserve in FAT I flew 90 hours total including one month with 2 hours block followed the next month by zero block. 90% of that time I was on call first and a pretty senior reserve too.

When I got a line month 7 I almost called in fatigued on my first trip. I had never flown a 4 day trip before and hadn't flown 20 hours in a week in 6 months.

Haha I know the feeling. I only flew one leg in November, then was assigned a three day in December... Was exhausted and rusty. I started as the plug in PSP and only moved up 2 spots since October. I'm bidding 48% in FAT already which is great. The flying seems better too. Longer legs and the number of locals is way less.

Meanwhile, all of the lineholders above you probably still couldn't drop anything due to "insufficient reserves".

Yep. When I was a reserve I never flew and neither did any of my crash pad roommates. Now that we all have lines none of us can ever drop anything or get any vacation requests approved due to insufficient reserve staffing.

I also never got a single early release request approved despite the fact that I once pointed out on the phone that I hadn't flown in my last 20 days on reserve and also wasn't the next in line to be called. I felt like granting my request would have been a pretty safe gamble.
