This would only be a fair comparison if you include things that don't show up on W2s. Things like 401k matching, company defined contributions, and insurance premiums paid by the company. Then dividing that total compensation by your actual hours flown.

Also, the JNC said that the concessionary TA that later failed, was worth about $12 million more per year compared to Skywest book. Management said they would trade the TA for Skywest book, if that gives you any indication. Lastly, in 2008, when Inc tried to buy XJT the first time, JA said that XJT pilots needed to take a 16% concession (pre XJT 7% concession) to be at parity with the average Skywest total compensation.

My friends at XJT with similar seniority to me make a lot more money than me due to double time and abusing their vacation time to drop trips. Our paychecks aren't even close.
Why is it abuse? Vacation trip drops are part of the contract that both sides agreed to. Otherwise I'm going to say management is abusing the pilots for paying us 7% less even though we agreed to it.

Nevets, you're quoting Inc. management as an objective source? Specifically, Jerry, when he was trying to get you to take concessions? Ok.

Yeah, I'm sure that the 16% was a low ball figure. Why would he tell us the truth and ask for bigger concessions in order for him to buy XJT? The bigger the concession he asks for, the less likely we are to accept. So he either told the truth or the disparity is even bigger. For sake of conversation, I was just going by what he told us.

But like I said, management was more than happy for us to take Skywest book instead of the last TA. And that TA was at least $12 million a year more lucrative for the pilots than Skywest book.
