That doesn't make sense. Skywest will
have 80 175s and xjt will have zero. And if they want to attract pilots to xjt in order to staff it, they need to place aircraft there first. And economies of scale? It's spread among 600+ aircraft. If Skywest can start with one 175 and make the economies of scale work, so can xjt. There is a reason why they aren't putting any of these at xjt. And it none of the reasons you gave.

What is the reason then if not money?
We started with 40 not 1.

Luis, we all know the true plan for XJT... and it doesn't involve 175s, or ANY new airframe. Best get Plan B primed and ready to go, or enjoy your preferential interview at the koolaid palace.

Of course it's about money. But the money is from employees, not any of the things you said. They could have just as easily placed all those 175s at xjt and make the same argument you are making. You didn't start with all 40 at once. You start with one or two and the rest have been delivered over time and continue to be.

If it truly was about the costs you are talking about, they would have merger all three airlines to begin with and take advantage of economies of scale, synergies, etc.

Where have you been? I've been preaching this for YEARS! I knew that when my MEC rolled over with that scope loa 5 years ago that Skywest already had their plan b in place. So I started polishing mine up since then. I've been ready. If this place shuts down tomorrow, I'll buy my ticket home and start implementing. It's very liberating. You and everyone else should try it, seriously.

I said this awhile back. Talked to a friend that works in Mecca. Said that after SGU couldn't get the joint TA done, they walked away and would just not bid any new aircraft. This friend worked on the ASA side but came back to Inc. Of course, the rhetoric was all about the stingy pilots and how SGU would show them. As I do so often with NUVS, I gave my opinion of the other side of the coin and how I would love to have the work rules and true contract they have. And reminded this friend of how little pilot costs were compared to running two management groups. Of course, we agreed to disagree.

Good on you for having the Plan B. If more of us had that, I don't think we would fall for scare tactics and shrinking rumors as easily.

Wow.
Just wow.
"Hellos Is this Brazil? Yes we need 40 airplanes. Tuesday works great"

Economy Of scale also faces diminishing returns in this scenario.

It's plan b for a reason...duh. I'll chose when I pull the trigger and plan b becomes plan a.
