It wasn’t long ago that FedEx was having issues. All of this stuff can turn on a dime now.

Tick tock, amazon is going to start doing consumer - consumer delivery service. Oh you got a leftover box from amazon and want to send Your friend something? Just put it in the box and packaging you already have from us and leave that box out and we will drop it off at Your friends place in 3 days because you know we are already going there anyways. We will just charge your account because everyone has one with us. You don't even need to go to a FedEx office and drop it off. Going to get ugly in freight. That door has been open too long without any real competition and Amazon HAS BEEN working on this for years.

This, coupled with the push towards Single-Pilot and eventually Pilot-less aircraft would leave me very concerned about a career in freight. There is nothing that the bean counters would love more than to get rid of us pesky, expensive Pilots.
