Quote: The corporate identity switch with delta is almost complete. We will be instructed in the finer points of van command and the deltoids will receive a pamphlet on how to descend at 261kts to 10k, then fly 290 to the marker to beat SWA.
"Texas 250" for us Delta dudes? Guess the patent expired.

Quote: The fact that they performed abortion is irrelevant to my point. I do not understand donating to one cause to have them donate to another. I want to know what my charitable giving is going toward. I would feel the same way if they gave money to the spotted owls society (although that probably would not make the news).
My apologies for making assumptions.

Quote: You make it sound so insignificant, that 3.4%. But there is nothing insignificant about 327,653 abortions per year. That is a costly procedure and makes up a lot more than 3.4 percent of their budget. A lot more. Its on their own website, see it for yourself.
I'm not making any sounds. They saw 2.4 million people, almost 330K of those was for abortion services. That is 7.4% of the visits, and AFAIK 3.4% of the budget. If you have better numbers I will gladly be corrected.

The reality is, if Planned Parenthood didn’t provide so many women with inexpensive and uncomplicated ways to get birth control, there would be far more abortions. You can’t reduce the abortion rate without making birth control accessible and cheap.

As far as all the pink, I also get annoyed with it. Seems gimmicky and over the top...once on a Delta flight (or maybe it was American), the gate agent made an announcement and was moving through the crowd, collecting donations. It was very uncomfortable and tacky. However, I get the obsession. One out of eight women, that’s a huge number of women. And while the survival rate is high, the process seems to last forever. One of my friends got breast cancer about three years ago, and she recently finished the rebuild process. It seems endless.

I guess I better ditch my idea of wearing ...
Since transferring to the inactive reserves and waiting out my 58 1/2 birthday to begin collecting my retirement pay, I'd planned on wearing a "Born to Kill" pin next to a "hippie peace symbol."

I guess the best laid plans go to waste easily.
